Rainbow Redstone

This is a fully vanilla compatible resource pack for any version 1.13 and above, that makes the redstone dust rainbow (meaning you don't need any mods to use this!). It also offers full customization in-game of many different aspects listed below, however this requires the ResPackOpts mod and minecraft version 1.20.1+. Other rainbow components are coming soon, check out the gallery to see how this currently looks like!

Features:

  • In-Game Customization of: (ResPackOpts required, mc version 1.20.1+)
    • Redstone dust color per signal strengh
    • Redstone dust type
    • Redstone dust distance off the surface
    • Signal strengh numbers
    • Signal strengh numbers color
    • Signal strengh numbers offset from the redstone dust they're on
    • Redstone dust item type
  • Full vanilla useability (without the customization)
    • Color customization for dust available in vanilla from mc 1.17+
  • Compatibility with sodium and any other mods and resource packs
    • Color customization with sodium present is not functional, however all other features still work and the game still displays the texture as normal

Feature availability

  • Rainbow redstone components, including repeaters, comparators, torches, etc
  • Animations for rainbow effects
  • Changes for dust particles with the help of mods (or core shaders potentially)

Important: if you want in-game customization, please install the ResPackOpts mod along side this resource pack. I also highly recommend you do this anyways if you're already using a fabric/neoforge modpack.

Updating: After installing a new version of this pack, please make sure any old ones are gone, delete them if not. Otherwise RPO functionality will break.

A word about the history and future of this resource pack

The main goal of this resource pack initially was to just make rainbow redstone possible in Vanilla minecraft, which at the time I thought was impossible until I discovered and learned how TCTC Cherry does it. After that and making the very first alpha version of RR (Rainbow Redstone), I realized that I wanted this to go so much further than simply rainbow dust. Polishing the versions, I decided to add customization and it kinda went downhill from there. I am now planning on making this the most customizeable redstone dust in any pack ever, including color, shape, and so much more. I'm hoping ya'll enjoy it and are as excited as I am to the future this potentially holds! :3

Inspiration and inital code/files for blockstate and models for the dust were taken from TCTC Cherry, altho at this point the pack has 0 resemblence to the original idea, as everything has been modified and re-build from ground up.

You are not allowed to use it for any AI training or analysis of any sort. Uploading it in any public channels or locations is prohibited (including public discord servers), share the link to this page instead.
